Concertini with the Brass Funkeys!

8 piece London based Brass Band ‘The Brass Funkeys’ give their debut Concertini for the Cookham Festival! Expect to hear everything from soulful jazz marches, reggae, gypsy and swing to pumping brass driven funk. 

Be inspired by sizzling saxes, screaming trumpets and soulful trombones without worrying about the kids wriggling!

Chiltern Arts Festival

As part of their festival, Chiltern Arts are holding a Choral Discovery Day and Concert on Saturday 14th May 2022, 10am and 3pm at St Mary’s Church, Princes Risborough.

Wycombe Chamber Choir

Join Tim Venvell and the choir on their journey around Europe in this quirky concert, on May 15th, 4pm at St Michael and all angels, Amersham.

In aid of the Ukraine Emergency Appeal.

Wycombe Sinfonia

The Lark Ascending is part of this concert of favourites, especially suitable for aspiring violinists!

Local opportunities

The Brass Academy is offering residential courses for brass players aged 8-18, held at the Purcell School, Bushey, Hertfordshire. Courses include a week of expert brass tuition from the country’s leading professional musicians, sport and fantastic boarding activities, dates as follows:

  • Summer Course One: Mon 25 – Fri 29 July 2022
  • Summer Course Two: Mon 22 – Fri 26 August 2022

Looking for something to do when the kids are at CMA?

Wycombe Concert Band (in affiliation with CMA) rehearses on Fridays at RGS from 7.45 to 9.15pm, and can accommodate adult woodwind, brass and percussion players, beginners through to intermediate standard. No prior band experience is necessary.
