Matt gained a BA(Hons) Jazz Studies from Leeds College of Music before joining RAF Music in 2006. He was appointed Principal Percussionist of the RAF Central Band in 2016, and leader of the RAF Squadronires in 2020. As an arranger/band leader he has written for Sir Tom Jones, Hannah Waddingham, and featured on Sky Arts and BBC1. He is also the principal vocalist and percussionist with Q the Music show.
